Launch of New Handmade Eco-Interior Design Service
Eco-conscious collective, Handmade Interiors launches a green interior design service based from their showroom and office on vibrant Cheshire Street, near Brick Lane in East London. Established by Indian textile designer, Piyush Suri and Turkish interior designer, Burcu Akin in October 2008, Handmade Interiors is an exciting new collaboration between “Handmade In Britain” and “Orientum” which offers natural, handmade and contemporary home and personal accessories. Following the successful launch of its gallery on Cheshire Street, and its efforts to showcase emerging ethical design talent in lifestyle products - Handmade Interiors has added to this an eco-friendly, contemporary interior design service featuring from Room Styling and Consultancy to Total Interior Design and Project Management.
Working closely with British designers and makers, Handmade Interiors also has strong design and manufacturing links with ethical craftspeople in Turkey and India. Both locally and internationally, it can source eco-friendly design materials to offer a complete and individual interior design service. Handmade Interiors brings together indigenous handcrafts and contemporary design in unique and affordable way with a focus on fair trade practices in the field of interior design.
Notes to Editors - Handmade in Britain was established by Piyush Suri in 2007 to nurture and exhibit new design talent. The designers are united by their eco-conscious credentials, and original approaches - and are brought together by Handmade in Britain at twice yearly events.
